I am a certified Florida K–6 , Exceptional Student Education K-12, and ESOL endorsed educator with a deep love for both teaching and the outdoors. After many meaningful years in the classroom, I stepped away to pursue a long-held goal of completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. Living simply on the land- navigating across the terrain, observing ecosystems closely, and relying on practical skills brought tremendous clarity. During that journey, I realized that I wanted to better align how I taught with what I value most: resilience, awareness, connection, and meaningful learning rooted in the natural world. I have continued to pursue goals leading me across diverse ecosystems from Canada to Mexico and returning to Florida to work with students in different capacities- all the while learning from the land and people along the way.
Wild & Rooted Outdoor Learning grew from that alignment.
Through navigation, shelter concepts, ecosystem exploration, seasonal awareness, and stewardship practices, students learn to observe patterns, ask questions, solve problems, and understand how plants, animals, weather, and human choices all interact.
Rather than simply learning about nature, students experience it firsthand, while building connection and resilience.
